To help acclimate our new permanent employees to The G, we provide a two-part New Employee Orientation which includes both online modules and an in-person orientation and benefits session. The online modules should be completed within the first 15 days of employment. 

In-Person Orientation 

UNCG offers an in-person Welcome to The G orientation and benefits session for new permanent employees twice each month. The orientation provides an overview of UNCG’s culture, resources, policies, and benefits. All SHRA and EHRA Non-Faculty employees are required to attend the session within their first two weeks of employment. Orientation sessions are typically held on the first and third Monday of each month throughout the calendar year, excluding  holidays and/or adverse weather conditions that may impact scheduling.  

Your orientation date information will be included in the offer letter you receive, and you will receive additional information via email the week before you attend. 

Program Agenda 

  • 9am to 12pm = UNCG Overview (Introductions, Campus Culture, Important Perks and Offices) 
  • 12pm to 1pm = Lunch at Fountain View or EUC – Dining Info Session 
  • 1pm to 4pm = UNCG Benefits Overview (provided by HR Benefits Team) 

UNCG New Employee Orientation Online Modules 

In addition to in-person orientation, employees will also be assigned the UNCG New Employee Orientation Online Module and A Drug-Free UNCG Online Module in our Learning Management System.

After Orientation 

Following the session, please report to your work location or connect with your department. Your department will continue the onboarding process by orienting you to your position. 

You will receive a feedback survey request in your UNCG email after orientation. We would greatly appreciate you completing this survey so we can continue to understand and improve the experience of new employees here at The G.
